One of our most useful CTCs, Terran Systems, Inc.'s An Introduction to PC Computing instructs your employees in the basic use of PC computer systems under the Microsoft® Windows 95/98 operating environment. Here your employees will learn the essentials for operating various applications, multi-tasking and file organization. A full section of this CTC is devoted wholly to Microsoft® Windows Explorer, imparting upon your workforce knowledge of the heart of the Windows operating environment. This CTC also includes a short section on the basics of a PC computer's hardware helping them understand terms like gigabyte and megahertz.
After completing this CTC, your employees will know how to manage application windows, perform multiple tasks simultaneously, organize computer files and manage application short cuts -- including the 'Start Menu.' They will know how Windows handles applications in general, enabling them to more quickly learn new software and troubleshoot existing software when problems arise. They will also have knowledge of basic computer terminology, both hardware and software, giving them an understanding of what those error messages mean and the ability to more effectively convey to a trained technician any problems they cannot solve themselves.
There are no prerequisites for this CTC.
